We had the 15th Goyo-kai Kendo Seminar at Concordia College in Bronxville, NY. Ogimura-sensei from Boston Shufukai gave a detailed seminar on Kirikaeshi. We learned and enjoyed Kendo kata, Jikeiko, and shiai-keiko throughout the event.

February 7, 2009
A joint practice with Shufu-kai (Randolph, MA), Kenshin-kai (New York City), and other Kendo friends from Boston, New Jersey, Queens was successfully held at New York Shinbu-kan. More than 50 Kendoka participated in the event. On the following day, 18 members from Shufu-kai, Kenshin-kai, and NY Shinbu-kan went to Hunter Mountain for skiing and snowboarding for a big fun!

Our young members, Muuhito Sakurai and Masakazu Tanahashi passed 1-kyu promotion test.
